Legal Secretary

RESPONSIBILITIES

BDG is currently seeking a professional Legal Secretary to join our team. As the Legal Secretary, your principal goal is to support the legal team by performing a range of clerical duties including researching information, scheduling meetings, and filing legal documents.

In addition to being an excellent written and verbal communicator, the ideal candidate will be polite and professional. To be successful in this role, you should possess an in-depth knowledge of legal procedures and terminology.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provide secretarial support to one or more lawyers.
  • Edit and proofread all legal documents.
  • Assist Paralegal with compiling, organizing, and finalizing documents for signature and distribution.
  • Ability to edit a variety of documents using Microsoft office applications, including but not limited to commencement date agreements, confidentiality agreements, tenant letters, license agreements, tenant leases, etc.
  • Maintain department filing system; create and maintain department files’.
  • Track legal time using CORE.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal documents and terminology.
  • Knowledge of forming LLC’s and assisting paralegal in this area.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
