SunVet Plaza

Blumenfeld Development Group and partner Regency Centers Corporation plan to redevelop the former SunVet Mall and convert it into a 168,000-square-foot, open-air shopping center anchored by Whole Foods.  The project will also include 53,000-square-feet of shops and six outparcels, including a new location for the currently operating Citibank. The center is located at the northwest corner of Sunrise Highway and Veterans Memorial Highway.

Dallas Industrial

The building was built in 1953 as the world headquarters and manufacturing facility for the Bulova Watch Company. BDG repositioned the building turning it into an ultra-modern, Class A office center in 1985. At the building’s core is a 35,000 square foot, sky lit atrium. Within the atrium, streams, waterfalls, and seating areas provide a serene setting to view the magnificent art collection, some of which is a rotating exhibit provided by the Queens Museum of Art. East River Plaza


East River Plaza is a multi-level 500,000 square foot retail project with an attached 1,250-space parking facility spanning 3 city blocks in Manhattan, NY. The project sits primarily on the former Washburn Wire factory site and consists of approximately 6 acres adjacent to the FDR Drive between 116th and 119th Streets in Upper Manhattan, New York. The site is directly accessible via the 116th Street exit of the FDR Drive. BDG purchased the site in 1996. The site was successfully rezoned allowing the construction for the retail structures and parking facility. BDG in partnership with Forest City Ratner developed a retail power center anchored by Costco, with a total of 500,000 square feet of retail space. BDG created a unique vertical environment for the big-box users and national retailers by maximizing the expansive site area to create larger floor plates.   The large floor plates allowed box users to have a single-floor “suburban style” location in Manhattan. The project is located in a Federal Empowerment Zone, a former Empire as well as the City’s Economic Development Zone.

BDG worked closely with local elected officials, community representatives and community-based employment and training organizations to implement a local hiring program to recruit permanent employees from Upper Manhattan.  Through this coordinated effort, the local hiring team was able to adapt to the varying needs of local applicants, identify and screen qualified potential candidates, and function as a referral service for East River Plaza tenants.  As a result, local residents made up approximately 65% of the initial newly hired employees at East River Plaza.  BDG has continued to work with local representatives to continue to facilitate a local hiring program.

In addition, BDG created an annual community giving program to show our support for the local community.  Each year East River Plaza recognizes smaller local organizations that are committed to improving the lives of our neighbors.

Bricktown Center

Bricktown Center at Charleston is a 550,000 square foot retail center situated on the South end of Staten Island, NY with tenants including Home Depot, Target, Petco, Michael’s, TJ Maxx, Ulta, and Applebee’s. The Property is ideally located on Veterans Road West near the West Shore Expressway and Outerbridge Crossing.

41 Great Jones Street

BDG converted the existing 12,000 square foot five-story masonry and cast iron building at 41 Great Jones Street into three luxury condominium units.  Acquired in December 2013 and located in the NoHo Historic District Extension, the building was primarily used for general office use and zoned M1-5B at acquisition.  After receiving all the necessary approvals from the Landmarks Preservation Commission and NY City Planning Commission, this conversion, designed by renowned architect Morris Adjmi, not only added an additional floor and restored the original façade to its former glory, but also created three unique and magnificent homes.  Each home features luxury finishes with kitchens designed by Boffi, Gagganau appliances, Calacatta Lincoln marble floors in the baths, and balconies.  The maisonette unit features a private patio garden and the penthouse unit features private rooftop terraces, each with integrated BBQs.  The building’s Great Jones Street NoHo location is one of the most desirable neighborhoods to reside in Manhattan, lined with small galleries, shops and cafes.

Gotham Plaza

Located on the 125th Street Corridor in New York, NY which runs from Broadway to Third Avenue and is considered to be Harlem’s traditional Main Street. With a new wave of retail development throughout the area, it is now the site of considerable revitalization and prominent new development. The site is just steps away from the subway and is easily accessible by bus, Metro North commuter rail line and automobile.  This mixed use building has two stories of office space above street level and retail with on site parking.

SkyDrive

SkyDrive is a 13-acre property located on Route 110 between Conklin Street and Route 109.  The site was formerly home to the Skydrive Golf Center. BDG was able to repurpose the site into a first-class shopping center, which includes an 80,000 square foot Floor & Décor; a LongHorn Steakhouse; PDQ; and Qdoba. In keeping with BDG’s heritage as a first-mover, this is the first New York location for both Floor & Décor and PDQ.

99-01 Queens Boulevard

This three-story mixed-use building is located on the major thoroughfare of Queens Boulevard, and is just one block away from the 67th Avenue subway station that serves the M & R lines.  This property features ground floor and lower level retail space, as well as office (school) space on the second floor.  The building totals 56,916 gross square feet and is anchored by Mount Sinai Hospital as a medical office facility and New York Sports Club.   BDG acquired the asset and simultaneously entered a long term lease with Mount Sinai Hospital to fill a void in their network and service this vibrant community.

Lifetime Fitness is an approximately 112,000 square foot family-oriented health center located at 350 Robbins Lane in Syosset, NY. Life Time Athletic brings a very unique facility that is family-friendly and attempts to accommodate the varying needs of its membership.  It’s philosophy of making a healthy lifestyle for all ages seemed a perfect fit for the Town; especially, the community surrounding our site. The facility includes indoor/outdoor pools, specialized facilities for cardio equipment, free weights, rock wall, fitness studios, cycle studio, yoga studio, child center, LifeCafe and LifeSpa.

BDG Corporate Headquarters

This former industrial building located just off the Long Island Expressway in Syosset, NY was converted in 2003 and has won numerous accolades for being one of Long Island’s best office spaces and most creative redevelopments. This former industrial building underwent a total transformation and is currently home to Blumenfeld Development Group, Ltd. In January 2011, LifeTime Athletic opened its first location in New York State at the property. LifeTime’s state-of-the-art health and fitness club encompassing a full spa and Aveda salon, occupies 112,000 square feet and is the perfect complement to the Town of Oyster Bay’s new multi-purpose athletic park at the complex.

Islandia Center

BDG, along with our partner, Taconic Capital Advisors, purchased this 380,000 square foot shopping Center on Veterans Memorial Highway in Islandia in November 2021. Located close to the Long Island Expressway, this retail complex is anchored by Walmart and Dave & Buster’s.  Veterans Memorial Highway has a traffic count of 36,000 cars per day.

1516 Motor Parkway

1516 Motor Parkway is a single story 140,000 square foot warehouse / distribution facility in Hauppauge and is the new home for Webb Enterprises.

306 Bowery

306 Bowery consists of two adjacent commercial units combined to create a 6,700 square foot block-through ground floor space with frontage on both Bowery and Elizabeth Street.  New Stand, a New York City-based retail and media startup with a chain of boutique convenience stores is now open.  Previously, a number of brands, such as House of Peroni and Nike Basketball, have opened pop-up shops here at 306 Bowery due to its superb location.  Easily accessible via the 6, F, N and R trains.

BDG 110 Plaza in Farmingdale, NY is home to LA Fitness.  Centrally located in the Route 110 retail corridor, the site has excellent visibility, access, strong demographics, and is an asset to the community.

Commack Plaza

Commack Plaza sits on a 3.5 acre parcel and is centrally located at Jericho Turnpike and Commack Road in Commack, Long Island. Anchored by Il Toscano restaurant the center is well positioned for the future.  Blumenfeld Development Group donated surplus land to the town to create the adjacent park for the neighborhood.

TJ Maxx Plaza

This 80,000 square feet center is located at one of Long Island’s top intersections on Jericho Turnpike and Larkfield Road in Suffolk County, NY.  Just across from the Huntington Square Mall, this property has always produced top sales for our tenants.

Bulova Retail Plaza

This 130,000 square foot retail center is anchored by Home Depot in Queens, NY. Bulova Retail Plaza is located at the intersection of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway and the Grand Central Parkway, two of the most active highways in the city. Eagle Road Shopping Center, strategically bordering US Interstate 84 in Danbury, CT consists of over 240,000 square feet of gross leasable area. Combining Phase I and Phase II, Blumenfeld Development Group successfully created a +/- 425,000 Square foot retail power center in South Setauket, New York.
