Construction Project Accountant

Essential Functions

  • Maintain Project related records for Project Cost with a strong comprehensive understanding of outside manual reporting in Custom Excel Reports
  • Administration of Contracts/Change Orders and Related Requisitions by verifying correctness
  • Maintain integrity of General Ledger by reviewing, analyzing and creating required Journal Entries/Adjustments related to Development Capitalized entries
  • Communicate with multiple internal Departments to extract pertinent Job Cost information and have the ability to work with outside Clients and Vendors
  • Knowledge of Budgets/Budget Revisions/Projections to coordinate Multi-Department information into Software
  • Understands all aspects of AP from entering invoices, cutting checks and generating Lien Waivers based on Project Requirements and Financing
  • All AR functions from AIA creation, Intercompany Billing, Receiving Cash and managing outstanding receivables
  • Able to handle multiple Projects from Residential/Commercial/Internal and prioritize tasks
  • Provide administration support to maintain files and Bank Draw packages

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, with strong Word, Excel, Project skills and Yardi experience a plus
  • Applicant must possess excellent organizational, time-management, and critical thinking skills with an ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, with detailed knowledge of project Contracts and Change Order documents. Must have excellent communication and writing skills, and at least three years of experience in Project Accounting
