Construction Accountant

/ Syosset, NY

The Construction Accountant position is accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, tracking contracts, reviewing expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected.

Desired Qualifications: A detailed knowledge of project contracts and change order documents with a strong background in all AP functions. Must have excellent communication and writing skills, and at least five years of experience in project accounting. Knowledge of AIA Documentation and Yardi a plus.



- Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders

- Review and input contract related requisitions

- Review and input supplier invoices related to a project

- Process payments and manage related Lien Waivers

- Review and input time sheets for work related to a project

- Create Inter-company billing for reimbursable items

- Create all project-related billings to outside customers

- Manage collections from customers for the project

- Review account totals related to project assets and expenses

- Prepare Project Cost Reporting for Management

- Close out project accounts upon project completion

- Manage credit card purchases for materials
